There have been lots of questions and rumblings after the past few New York Road Runners lotteries for big races. People wonder how many locals get in and how the pack breaks down geographically.
I got these numbers from NYRR after Wednesday’s ING NYC Marathon lottery so you can see how it all adds up and works out. It turns out the majority of runners are guaranteed entry from either the 9+1 program, 3x denied defaults or time qualifiers. Check out the document below – interesting stuff:
