On April 15, 2013, two explosions ripped through the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three and injuring hundreds. The euphoria of crossing the finish line turned into bloody chaos as two Islamic terrorists planted homemade bombs that rocked the end of the 26.2-mile trek.

The blasts left more than 200 injured, three dead and a nation looking for answers. A massive manhunt was underway for two suspects, brothers Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev of Cambridge, Mass. Tamerlan was killed in a gunfight with police overnight on April 19, 2013. His brother, Dzhokhar, was captured alive and taken into custody later in the evening after he was found hiding at the bottom of a covered boat in the backyard of a Watertown, Mass. home.

Tamerlan Anzorovich Tsarnaev (left) and his younger brother Dzhokhar Tsarnaev planted bombs at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013, claiming the lives of three people and reportedly injuring 264 more. After the FBI released images of the suspects, the Tsarnaev brothers killed an MIT police officer and engaged in a shootout with the police in Watertown in Boston. Tamerlan was captured but died before Dzhokhar escaped but was later found and arrested on April 29, 2013. On April 8, 2015, Tsarnaev was found guilty on all thirty counts of the indictment.
