Looking for an innovative Christmas lights display? Arizona woman Kristina Green can point you in the right direction.
Green simply couldn’t compete with Maricopa neighbor Eric Cyr’s extravagant work of holiday art, so she did the next best thing.
She got Cyr to build a giant “DITTO” sign in lights on the outside of her home, with an arrow below it pointing right at his house. More than 400 lights were used for Green’s home, while a whopping 22,000 were used for Cyr’s.
Ever since the sign was put up the day after Thanksgiving, Green’s home has become somewhat of an attraction in Maricopa, a town of about 30,000. And when ABC15.com in Arizona ran a picture of the sign earlier this week, interest skyrocketed.
“We have 100 to 150 people coming at night taking pictures,” Green told the Daily News on Tuesday. “There is a lot of laughter at our house right now.”
Green, who lives with her daughter and grandson, is shocked by the attention.
I am totally surprised,” said Green, who has lived in the house for six years. “We thought it would be funny for the neighborhood. We were contacted by Australia and Ireland.”
