She may be state senator and know it, but it won’t be on the GOP or Independence Party lines.
Flatbush’s Mindy Meyer, the 22-year-old ingenue with
and
the very stark lack of political knowledge
, got officially nixed from the two lines after a city Board of Elections hearing today.
I am told Meyer was removed from the IP line because although she received a Wilson-Pakula (needed because she’s not a registered member of the party) to run on that line against incumbent state Sen. Kevin Parker, a Democrat, she didn’t submit the required petitions.
Colin mentioned earlier
Meyer’s issues with the Republican line
(she only registered as a member of the GOP in May, and so had the same Wilson-Pakula hurdle to jump).
Meyer is still the candidate of the Conservative Party.
Our James Arkin gave a call over to Meyer spox Isaac Shteierman about this; he insisted Meyer was never running on either the GOP or IP lines, but rather only as a Conservative with Republican backing.
Our subsequent calls to the Meyer campaign have not resulted in further information just yet…
