Hugh Jackman may play a nearly invincible super hero on the big screen – but the Australian star has been reminded of his mortality.

The 45-year-old actor revealed to his 231,000 Instagram followers that he suffered a skin cancer scare on his face.

“(Wife Deborra-Lee Furness) said to get the mark on my nose checked,” he posted Thursday with a picture of his bandaged nose.

The fateful mark can be seen in a photo of Jackman taken last week backstage at 'Big Fish' at Broadway's Neil Simon Theater.

“Boy, was she right! I had a basil cell carcinoma. Please don’t be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!”

Though Jackman’s rep didn’t divulge more details, the diagnosis came in the last few days . A photo of the star taken backstage at the Broadway production of “Big Fish” on Nov. 13 clearly shows s small blemish on the bridge of his nose.

Basal cell carcinoma is a common form of type of skin cancer, often manifested as a waxy bump or sore and attributed to long-term exposure to radiation from the sun, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Though it rarely spreads, if left untreated, basal cell carcinoma can cause disfigurement.

The Skin Cancer Foundation estimates that there are 2.8 million cases of BCC diagnosed in the U.S. every year.

Jackman told the Daily News earlier in July that he was taking the rest of the year off from show business to spend time with his family in New York City after filming four movies — “Les Miserables,” “The Wolverine,” “Prisoners” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past” — in a row.
