He’s back, or so it seems.

Gordon Hayward, the injured Celtics small forward, has made his return to the hardwood.

In a photo posted by Boston GM Danny Ainge on Twitter Sunday, Hayward can be seen releasing a shot a few feet in front of the free throw line while sitting a chair and wearing a leg brace.

With the caption, “He’s putting in the work,” Celtics fans can rejoice as their star has maintained a positive attitude after facing what’s expected to be a season-ending leg injury.

Five minutes into Boston’s season opener against the Cavs on Oct. 17, Hayward suffered a gruesome fractured ankle that shocked teammates and fans alike.

But even without the presence of their scoring wing to complement All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving, the Celtics have managed to rattle off an eight-game winning streak and are sitting atop the Eastern Conference with an 8-2 record.

It will be a long road before Gordon Hayward makes his return to the starting lineup, but until then he will have to work on his seated trick shots.
