The Russian vixen accused of blackmailing disgraced former Gov. Eliot Spitzer will likely go to trial in the fall, a Manhattan Supreme Court Judge said Tuesday.
Svetlana Travis Zakharova, 26, is accused of shaking down Spitzer for $400,000 over a two-year period.
But she says he attacked and threatened her in a room at the Plaza Hotel when she told him she was returning to her homeland in February 2016.
“She wants to stay in the country. She believes in her innocence,” her attorney Joseph Murray said.
Justice Charles Solomon said in court that her trial is expected to start in Sept. 25.
She faces at least 15 years behind bars if convicted.
Spitzer has not been charged in connection to her allegations.
