A Danish diplomat chased a burglar through her Manhattan apartment, retrieving the camera and jewelry he tried to steal but not catching the intruder, police sources said Monday.

Marie Wandel, 58, and her husband, Christian Wandel, 54, also a Danish diplomat, were entertaining two friends when the would-be thief busted a bedroom window and entered their first-floor apartment in Morningside Heights.

As the man was grabbing a camera and jewelry, Wandel saw what was happening and chased him, catching up to the suspect by her front door.

Wandel managed to get back the valuables, which are worth about $1,000.

“Everything is all right,” she said Monday before declining further comment.
