As Donald Trump’s lead in the polls continues to grow, so does his bigotry, sexism, and xenophobia — so bad, in fact, that major media outlets have taken to comparing the billionaire blowhard to Adolf Hitler, another narcissist who managed to make millions of people feel increasingly unsafe.
TRUMP DOUBLES DOWN ON PLAN TO SHUT OUT ALL MUSLIMS
Trump’s bigotry has gotten so flagrant that today’s cover of the Philadelphia Daily News openly compares him to Hitler. Because most of us were not alive during Hitler’s reign, it’s hard to swallow that the horror we’re witnessing from the businessman is real.
While it may be easy for people who are not the subjects of his attacks or bigoted policy ideas to laugh and snicker at the hate being espoused by the leading Republican candidate for president, it’s no laughing matter.
On Monday, when Trump released a policy proposal to ban all Muslims from entering the United States, including Muslim-Americans who may have traveled abroad, he crossed a very frightening line (one of many lines he has crossed so far this year) that many thought was even too far for a man who has specialized in going too far.

Trump has already said he wants to “round up” over 400,000 undocumented immigrants per month for 24 straight months and drop them off somewhere in Mexico. He has already made the false claim that more than 80% of white murder victims are killed by African Americans when the truth is that more than 80% of whites are killed by other whites.
He has already made fun of a disabled journalist, called a woman fat, inferred a woman was having menstrual issues, and more. That he has done all of this, and soared to his highest lead yet in the polls is a frightening reflection of the true American soul.
Any one of those issues should have disqualified Donald Trump as a candidate, but because his views on Mexican immigrants, women, African Americans, and the disabled don’t actually bother tens of millions of Americans, he has been nearly impervious to real criticism of his horrendous views. Call him Teflon Don. It’s not that nothing sticks, it’s that a huge percentage of Americans actually agree with him.
Now though, Trump has gone full-blown Nazi on us. Having already stated that mosques across America should be closed, his new policy of banning Muslims from America is sick and dangerous. If, for just a few seconds, you begin to tease out how such a plan would actually work, and be administered, you see just how horrendous it is.

Is he so dense that he thinks all Muslims look alike? Is he aware that people from the Middle East and Asia or Africa can often look very much alike but be Christian, Muslim, Hindu, etc. Is he aware that Muslims can often be white with blonde hair and blue eyes? Is he aware that Muslims can have red hair or freckles? Is he aware that millions of Muslims in America are African Americans and military veterans?
Will the TSA ask people at the gate if they are a Muslim or will airlines have to ask in the ticketing process?
Will people be quizzed to determine what they know about Christianity to prove they aren’t faking? Is Trump aware that many Muslims know much more about the Bible than millions of pseudo-Christians (like him) in America?
All of this is so ugly and requires every American of good conscience to speak up and speak out. Do not allow bigotry, soft or hard, to happen uninterrupted in your presence. Silence is compliance. We can, and must, do better.
