Advocate slams de Blasio’s Veterans Advisory Board appointees

Mayor de Blasio has appointed half a dozen new members to serve on the Veterans Advisory Board, but advocates slammed some of his choices.

De Blasio called his picks —Anthony Odierno, Charles Greinsky, Todd Haskins, Samuel Innocent, Jules Martin and Mariel Juarez — “fantastic choices.”

But outgoing board member Paul Rieckhoff, of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, said the appointees don’t have strong enough ties to the community.
