Light it up.

A towering scoreboard, built of shipping containers and 28 sparkling new sedans, will beam World Cup scores to Manhattanites from the shores of Greenpoint.

Standing more than 40 feet tall, the installation on a private fenced-off industrial site near the mouth of the Newtown Creek, is lit with the headlights of 28 Audi A8 models arranged like an oversized “Hollywood Squares” set.

The stunt, which is set to beam soccer scores through July 14, is the work of the German-based carmaker Audi, and the automobiles themselves are valued at a combined $2 million.

“As the U.S. appetite for international soccer grows, Audi will continue to bring fans exciting activations that enhance their soccer experience,” Audi of America spokesman Loren Angelo said in a statement on Wednesday.

Despite the pricy promotion, not everyone was happy with Audi’s decision to turn its back on its Brooklyn neighbors.

“Oh come on,” said Angel Vazquez, who works in warehouse across the street from the fenced-off scoreboard. “They put it in Brooklyn you should be able to see it from Brooklyn!”
