He was “Dazed and Confused.”
A British man woke up from a coma believing he was Oscar-winning movie star Matthew McConaughey.
“In my head I thought I was Matthew McConaughey,” Rory Curtis told Metro. “When I went to the toilet I went to look in the mirror and I was shocked because I didn’t look like him, I didn’t know what I was looking at.”
Curtis, a barber, had been unconscious for six days following a car crash in Staffordshire involving six cars and a large truck.
When he woke up, he spoke to nurses in French — even though he hadn’t studied the language since school. He also somehow believed he was the “Interstellar” star.
“Slowly over time it eventually clicked and I thought ‘he is an actor, what am I on about?'” he told Metro. “But at times I was in the hospital thinking I can’t wait to get out of here and back to filming movies. I was convinced I was him and that I had his good looks as well — I know it was hopeful thinking really.”
