A Polish couple visiting Portugal plummeted to their deaths on Saturday after they slipped off a cliff while apparently trying to take a selfie with their two children, authorities said.
The family was taking pictures of themselves while touring the cliffs at Cabo da Roca along the west coast of the country when the parents suddenly tripped and fell into the Atlantic Ocean, The Mirror reported.
Rescue workers were unable to recover the bodies that day because of weather conditions.
But the bodies were pulled from the water after the search resumed on Sunday.
Their children, ages 5 and 6, were placed in the care of Polish diplomats and were undergoing psychological evaluations.
