A man and woman in Missouri have been arrested and charged with manslaughter after they failed to seek medical attention for a friend who suffered an overdose and then took selfies with his corpse, police say.

Chelsie Berry, 24, and Jared Prier, 28, were also charged with abandoning a body, according to a Newtown County Sheriff’s affidavit published on the Smoking Gun website.

Berry told investigators she had been hanging out with Dannis (Nathan) Meyer, 30, who began “acting crazy” and “pulling out his penis” after injecting himself with the powerful painkiller Dilaudid.

After Meyer passed out, Chelsie said she became “nervous” and called Prier, who met the woman in a McDonald’s parking lot.

She and Prier hung out a little more, then drove to a convenience store with Meyer in the front seat. He didn’t seem to be breathing, she told police.

Jared Prier, seen here, posed with the corpse of a friend who died from an overdose, then dumped his body along a rural Missouri road, authorities said.

They were afraid to get help for Meyer, she said, because they were high on meth and Xanax.

After Meyer began to “smell bad,” she said, they hauled his body to the back seat, and eventually dumped him along a deserted road because they were tired of looking at his corpse, she told investigators.

But first they posed for a selfie with the body and Berry posted it to Facebook, police said.
