Jeb Bush’s 2016 campaign is falling apart and, if his footwear is any indication, so is he.
The fading Republican presidential candidate was spotted Sunday at a rally in New Hampshire sporting shoes held together with a piece of gray tape.
In a shot of the former Florida governor at a town hall in Nashua, N.H., Bush’s black shoes featured the multi-purpose adhesive attaching the sole of his left shoe to the body.
The unfortunate choice of old footwear represents a walking metaphor for Bush’s hobbled campaign, which limps into the Granite State’s Tuesday primary trailing in polls.
Bush, who entered the race last year seen as a presumptive front-runner, has failed to attract support across the nation.
He finished sixth in last week’s Iowa caucuses, with only 2.8% support and is running in fifth place in most New Hampshire polls ahead of Tuesday’s primary.
Bush is widely expected to drop out of the race without a top-four finish in the Granite State.
