LIVE LOGO NEW.pngWatch live* as Mayor de Blasio and top NYC officials speak about a new deal to expand paid sick leave protections to more workers… “This agenda starts now.”

The new law

will require businesses with at least five workers to provide paid sick days to their employees, growing next year to include operations that employ at least 15 people.

As our Erin Durkin

noted Thursday night in previewing the announcement

on this page: “It’s the first visible example of the new political order at City Hall – the alliance of a liberal mayor and a progressive City Council speaker who have vowed to steer the city in a new direction after 20 years of Republican and independent mayors.”

* Update:

The live feed has been rolled to video. To skip the footage of reporters standing around waiting (and the screeching audio), fast-forward to about the 43-minute mark.
