Tara Reid on possibility of a real ‘Sharknado’: ‘It actually can happen’

“Sharknado” and its upcoming Big Apple sequel may be a couple of unexpected Syfy hits, but if you ask star Tara Reid, a shark attack on New York is not as far-fetched as it might seem.

“You know, it actually can happen,” Reid, 38, told GQ magazine. “I mean, the chances of it happening are very rare, but it can happen actually.”

Reid admitted that it “would be crazy” for something like that to transpire.

“The chances of it are, like, you know, it’s like probably ‘pigs could fly,'” she told GQ. “Like, I don’t think pigs could fly, but actually sharks could be stuck in tornados. There could be a sharknado.”

If sharks do someday find themselves caught in a twister headed for the nearest skyscraper, Reid’s “Sharknado” co-star Ian Zeiring says it’s best to be armed with a chainsaw — and perhaps a prayer.

“Get yourself the biggest, badass chainsaw you can find and hope for the best,” the former “Beverly Hills, 90210” star told GQ.

“Definitely go to the top of a roof, get some bombs and make sure you have on an awesome, powerful wetsuit,” Vivica Fox, who signed on for the “Second One” sequel, added.

Fox, 49, also offered up Samuel L. Jackson as a potential addition to the popular TV movie franchise since he’s already battled snakes on planes.

“Sharknado 2: The Second One” premieres on Syfy July 30.
