A passerby miraculously caught a 1-year-old baby who’d fallen from a Chinese apartment block’s window ledge.
Incredible surveillance footage shows the heroic bystander, known only as Mr. Li, somehow grabbing the infant as he plunged two stories to the ground.
The near-tragedy reportedly occurred during a thunderstorm in Xiaolan Town, Zhongshan City in Guangdong Province, last week.
Video of the incident was uploaded online and has since gone viral with hundreds of thousands of views.
The child had been left alone by his mom and climbed up to the window to look for her, according to Shanghaiist.
Li, who was seeking shelter from the downpour, then spotted the child — and stood in the middle of the street with the hope he could catch him if he fell.
Meanwhile, other locals pulled sofas and cardboard boxes out into the road to try and cushion the baby’s fall.
