Miley Cyrus proved that the key to her broken heart could not easily be replaced.
The pop star, whose dog, Floyd, recently died, could not heal from her pooch’s loss by loving a new puppy.
While her mother, Tish Cyrus, tried to mend her aching heart by gifting her with a sweet pup named Moonie, the “Wrecking Ball” singer thought it was best to give her new furry friend away.
“Moonie, thank you for giving me so much love, comfort, & peace,” she tweeted Sunday. “It’s just to soon for me right now. #missingmoonie”
The 21-year-old singer decided Moonie was best in the loving care of “my friend’s mom who has a tiny pup 4 him 2 play with, Molly.”
While Cyrus has not confirmed how Floyd died, reports indicated her dog was killed by a coyote.
“After what happened I’m scared 2 have a tiny dog #moonieandmolly,” she wrote on Sunday without further explanation.
Floyd passed away April 1 and the “Bangerz” singer immediately took to Twitter to express her devastation.
“Today is the 2nd worst day of my life,” she tweeted. “I don’t wanna say it because I don’t want it to be real … But my precious baby Floyd has passed away. I am broken.”
Days later her mother gave her Moonie, but Cyrus questioned if it was too soon from the start.
“I feel physically sick & I am so emotionally and physically exhausted,” she tweeted shortly after. “I feel like I have nothing else to give sweet baby Moonie.”
On Sunday she posted a pic of her dog, MJ, with a stuffed toy resembling Floyd. “MJ & #floyd.”
