This Bronco was no match for a steel Seahawk.
A recycling plant in suburban Seattle showed the power of a Seahawk crane against a Ford Bronco Wednesday in what they hope will be a harbinger of Sunday’s Super Bowl.
The crew at Scrap-It in Ferndale, Wash. painted two carne trucks in Seattle Seahawks blue, gray and green to create a mighty steel Seahawk. They also took a 1985 Ford Bronco truck and painted it in Broncos colors.
The Bronco was parked right in front of the crane as an employee jumped out of the truck and runs for cover before the destruction begins.
The crew then gets to work as the trucks begin to peck at the vehicle as an actual bird would claw at its prey — tearing it apart until there was nothing left. The truck is also lifted in the air several times and dropped to the ground.
The crew used a truck with shear jaws, which cut through metal and look like a beak, and a crane with a claw attachment.
“It’s not like the Seahawks go to the Super Bowl every year. This is a special occasion,” Lisa Parberry, who co-owns Scrap-It with her husband, Brian, told the Bellingham Herald.
Employee Herb Parks said tearing into the Ford Bronco like a T-Rex gave him a lot of satisfaction and he hopes the real Seahawks will have similar success at the big game.
“This made me feel like I was part of the team,” he told the newspaper.
