Twenty years after his suicide, new photos have emerged of the way Kurt Cobain lived.

A press photographer released stills taken at the Los Angeles home the Nirvana frontman shared with wife Courtney Love two years before his tragic death.

The pictures reveal an assortment of things Cobain and Love left behind when they moved out of their Riverdale apartment.

The array of objects includes unopened mail, pill bottles, business cards, a dingy bra, loose change, a crumbled cigarette packet, and a burnt metal spoon that could have been used for shooting heroin.

Another photo shows a videotape of the Nirvana single “Come As You Are” next to a polaroid picture, a withered rose, and a letter from Congressman Henry Waxman.

The new shots of Cobain’s LA apartment come on the heels of new photos from his suicide scene. As Seattle’s KIRO 7 reported, four rolls of film connected with Cobain’s death were developed after sitting unprocessed in an evidence locker.

The television station also unearthed a picture in Cobain’s police file of a cigar box filled with drug paraphernalia, including syringes and another burnt spoon.

After reviewing the photographs, investigators decided not to reopen the case.

The pictures have surfaced thanks to the interest around the 20th anniversary of Cobain’s death, on April 5, 1994. The 27-year-old singer’s body was found three days after he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Cobain’s death remains a source of speculation for conspiracy theorists, despite the singer’s struggles with drug abuse and mental health issues.
