Brooklyn woman faces charges after walking away with two children without asking parents: cops

A 46-year-old woman faces child endangerment charges after panicking a Brooklyn neighborhood by taking two young children to a park without their parents’ consent — or knowledge, cops said.

Karen Cohen of 54th St. in Borough Park spotted a crying boy and girl, both 4, on 51st St. near 13th Ave. at about 4 p.m. Saturday and asked them if they wanted to go to a nearby park, police and witnesses said.

The kids, Orthodox Jewish children celebrating the Sabbath, agreed and Cohen took the tykes by the hand, according to area surveillance video cops recovered.

Upon discovering the toddlers were missing, their terrified parents alerted authorities. Police found the unharmed children with Cohen three blocks away about an hour later — apparently on their way home. Police also charged Cohen with criminal trespass after their parents said the children were playing in a backyard when they disappeared.
