The sequel is rarely as good as the original — when are we going to learn this lesson?
Like Tebowing and Griffining before, we now have Kaepernicking thanks to Colin Kaepernick’s dominating performance in the 49ers’ NFC playoff win over the Packers on Saturday.

After each of his two rushing touchdowns, the 25-year-old celebrated by kissing his bicep (he loses originality points as USA Today points out that this has been wrestler Scott Steiner’s move for decades). Now everybody’s mimicking the gesture — and posting photos of it on Twitter and Facebook.
While Kaepernicking is gaining speed, Tebowing is still the gold standard. Before he became the Jets backup — they don’t allow him in the end zone — Tebow would celebrate a big play by dropping to one knee and pointing skyward.
We’ll have to wait and see if Kaepernicking can pull a Terminator 2 and make us all forget about the original.
