An ex-NYPD officer admitted to viciously gunning down his wife in front of their two young children because he thought she was having an affair.
Kevin Canty, 44, pleaded guilty Tuesday to hitting his wife Jessica, 40, with seven bullets as their 6 and 9-year-old children watched in horror inside their Ozone Park home.
“My nephew saw everything. … I’m just glad he doesn’t have to go through anything he already went through the grand jury. No child should have to go through this,” said Jessica’s sister Lisa Caccavale outside of Queens Supreme Court.

The children are both in therapy.
Canty dodged a life sentence when he coped a plea to first-degree manslaughter. He’s expected to get sentenced to 25 years in prison by Queens Supreme Court Justice Kenneth C. Holder on January 6.
Canty, who retired from the NYPD in 2013, called his wife a “whore” and told authorities he was sorry for what he did shortly after he was arrested, prosecutors said.
The couple were together since they were teenagers and have a 20-year-old daughter as well as the two kids who witnessed the tragedy.
Orders of protection have been issued for Canty to stay away from them.
Caccavale and other relatives are expected to give victim impact statements at sentencing.
