The FBI arrest of a Florida high school teacher on sex charges marks the fourth time in the past year that a staff member of Hagerty High School has been taken into custody for illegal sexual conduct, according to authorities.

Greg Vaughn, a social studies teacher, was nabbed by FBI agents last week for allegedly sending panties and nude photos of himself to a 17-year-old girl in Colorado.

The 58-year-old father of two told agents he had engaged in sexual role-playing with the teenager to enhance her self-esteem, authorities said.

Three teachers and a dean from Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Fla., have been busted on sex charges in the past year.

His arrest follows the case of William Gierke, the school’s dean, who was busted in February and charged with soliciting prostitution. In September 2014, teacher’s aide Michael Fitzwater was charged with unlawful sexual contact with a minor and in May of the same year, special education teacher William Nordin was arrested on sexual assault charges, according to WKMG-TV in Orlando.

Vaughn’s neighbor, April Walton, said she knows about the previous arrests at Hagerty High School, and for that reason her family has stayed within the Oviedo High School area, the paper said.

“I don’t want (her daughter) going there. I refuse to move … because I don’t want her going to Hagerty,” Walton said.

School officials said the arrests were a series of isolated events.

Saying the number of staff taken into custody was “unfortunate,” a school district spokeswoman said they were not “indicative of the institution, the leadership, or the many outstanding teachers and students that conduct themselves appropriately on a daily basis.”

According to the statement from the Seminole County School Districts, “each of these arrests are uniquely different and completely unrelated the exception of the fact that those individuals happened to teach at the same school.”
