A convicted sex offender in Michigan attempted the “they were asking for it” defense with authorities — “they” being boys he preys on.

Jason Michael Spencer, who is already doing prison time for one child sex crime, admitted to sexually assaulting a boy but claimed the child “actually had approached him and he ‘wanted it,’ ” according to a probable cause affadavit from Kent County Sheriff’s Detective Joel Roon.

The pompous perv claimed he “constantly has to stop himself from having sexual contact with kids because they tend to seek him out,” the affidavit said.

“Jason said that he doesn’t understand the justice system as it pertains to this type of case because he didn’t feel that he should be prosecuted for this since these kids are the ones who want to ‘do it’ with him,” the document reads.

Spencer, who turns 28 Friday, appeared in a Grand Rapids court Tuesday on three counts of criminal sexual conduct. He is charged with assaulting a boy several times throughout 2012, including once while they were watching the classic family film “A Christmas Story” on TV, the Detroit Free Press reported. The boy did not disclose the alleged assaults to police until late last year.

Spencer is the cousin of a man who was dating the boy’s mother at the time.

The creep is already in state prison for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old boy in 2013, MLive reported. He also has a previous conviction for two home break-ins from 2009, one of which he did with a 13-year-old boy as an accomplice.

Spencer is now being held on $1 million bail and could face life in prison if convicted of his latest charge.
