An unhinged woman lobbed anti-gay epithets at a man in Brooklyn before spitting at him and bashing his face with a rock during a bloodly confrontation in Brooklyn, cops said Friday.
Safire Ellington, 18, is facing assault as a hate crime and marijuana possession charges for the Tuesday night attack at Carroll St. and Utica Ave. in Crown Heights.
Her 36-year-old victim told police Ellington and five others approached him out of the blue about 9:20 p.m.
“F—-t! F–boy!” Ellington screamed before spitting in the man’s direction, officials said.
She then picked up a rock and struck the man in the face at least three times, prosecutors said.
The victim tried to pull out his cell phone and call 911, but another member of the group, identified by police as Leroy Bacchus, 33, knocked it out of his hand. The phone broke when it hit the ground, cops said.
The victim suffered a cut to his nose and bruises to his head and face, authroities said.
Ellington and Bacchus were arrested nearby about two hours later. The Brooklyn woman had a sandwich bag of marijuana on her when she was taken into custody, police said. Bacchus was charged with criminal mischief as a hate crime.
They were released without bail after being arraigned Wednesday. An order of protection was filed on behalf of the victim.
Cops are looking to question four other people present during the attack.
