Chiwetel Ejiofor is joining his “12 Years a Slave” co-star Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming comic book flick “Doctor Strange.”

Ejiofor will play Baron Mordo, an arch-villain of Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme, Deadline reports.

“Strange” director Scott Derrickson and writer Jon Spaihts have tinkered with the character’s backstory to make him an amalgamation of different character from the supernatural superhero’s comic series.

It will be the first foray into the comicbook geek realm for the 37-year-old British actor, who was nominated for an Oscar for his performance of enslaved New Yorker in “12 Years a Slave.”

Cumberbatch, meanwhile, has been honing his geek cred for a few years now in films like “Star Trek Into Darkness” and “The Hobbit” movies.

Oscar winner Tilda Swinton is also on board for superhero flick, playing the Tibetan mystic known as The Ancient One.

As the story goes, both Dr. Stephen Strange and Baron Mordo were students of The Ancient One until Mordo tried to kill his mentor.

The movie is due in theaters in November 2016.
