The head of the United Federation of Teachers on Thursday demanded that Gov. Cuomo pay out billions of dollars in education funds to benefit city schoolkids.

“They have to pay this money to the city,” UFT boss Michael Mulgrew said at City Hall.

According to Mulgrew, Cuomo owes New York City public schools $2,667 per pupil — a total of $2.5 billion.

The money is the result of a 2006 court decision requiring the state to provide adequate funding for public education, Mulgrew and other advocates claim.

The Cuomo administration pointed out, in response, that education spending in New York has more than doubled over the past 15 years.
