The Baseball Hall of Fame elections are never without controversy and the 2014 class – assuming there is one, not one player was elected in 2013 – will be no different.
The Daily News has five writers who vote. Those ballots are being made public here.
If the selections were left up exclusively to the News scribes, your 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame class would look like this: Jeff Bagwell, Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, Edgar Martinez, Jack Morris, Mike Piazza, Curt Schilling, and Frank Thomas.
Pitchers Glavine, Maddux, Morris and Schilling appeared on all five News ballots. Frank Thomas was the lone position player to be voted for by all five News writers.
Bagwell, Martinez and Piazza made four of our ballots.
Narrowly missing the cut (players need a minimum of 75 percent of the vote to get in) by being named on only 3 of our 5 ballots was Tim Raines.
Below are the full ballots of our writers.
John Harper’s ballot: Jeff Bagwell, Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, Edgar Martinez, Jack Morris, Mike Piazza, Tim Raines, Curt Schilling, Frank Thomas, Alan Trammell.
