The Cats man took one final swipe at his former Republican rival for New York’s mayor on Sunday — and said he felt that his real opponent was Rudy Giuliani.
Supermarket magnate John Catsimatidis blasted the man who beat him, Joe Lhota, charging in a concession email Sunday that his “dirty tricks” included “thousands” of robo calls.
Catsimatidis also said that Lhota’s former City Hall boss, Giuliani, was the campaign’s architect.
“I Felt I was Not Fighting Lhota … He Never Spoke in one Television or Radio Commercial … It was Only Rudy … I Felt it was RUDY vs CATS,” he said in the bizarre farewell missive.
Lhota outdistanced Catsimatidis by a 52.5% to 40.7% margin to snag the Republican nomination.
Catsimatidis also vowed to stay “active” in politics.
