“After 39 years, it happened,” veteran NBC weatherman Al Roker tweeted. “I overslept and missed a show.”

The enthusiastic TV personality tweeted that he missed his hosting gig on the early morning show “Wake Up with Al,” which airs at 6 a.m. on The Weather Channel.

'Morning, Sleepyhead. Overslept and missed #wuwa Here on time for TODAY' Roker wrote, posting a Vine video to Twitter.

Roker, 58, made it in time to his next job, as the resident weather expert — and often times comedic relief — on the “Today” show. He even made light of the situation by posting a yawning Vine video.

“Morning, Sleepyhead,” he wrote, posting the video to his Twitter page. “So tell me your oversleeping story.”
