Lena Dunham heads to Iowa in “Girls” season 4.

In the newly released trailer for the hit HBO series, Dunham’s character, Hannah Horvath, begins a new life away from her New York City friends and boyfriend, Adam Sackler, played by Adam Driver.

“I’m telling you, Iowa’s incredible,” she tells Marnie Michaels (Allison Williams) during a video chat at the beginning of the nearly two-minute clip. “We should all move here and start the revolution.”

“No one is moving to Iowa ever, but I’m so, so glad you’re happy,” Michaels responds.

But while she’s no longer in the same area code as her crew, Hannah remains intertwined in a world filled with discovery, new beginnings and old ways.

“You don’t even have the bravery to break up with Adam,” Jessa Johnson, played by Jemima Kirke, tells Hannah over the phone.

At the end of season three, Hannah’s relationship with Adam was left with a questionable conclusion as to what their future would be like.

He stayed in the Big Apple to pursue his dream of acting on Broadway, while she trekked to Iowa to further her studies as a writer.

The trailer indicates they’re still trying to keep their love going as Adam toasts to her new life.

“To Hannah,” he says at a meal with her parents, “taking the next step in a series of random steps.”

And what random steps they are.

From Hannah’s return to college life, Marnie’s love affair with a taken man, Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) still trying to win her man back, and Jessa continuing on the road to making sense of her existence, the new season, which debuts Jan. 11, 2015, is sure to carry all the drama that’s attracted viewers to the last three.
